Got a few stockpiled on the phone, so here we go. Can't really remember where most of these were taken.

First, the stickers. These are the most sneakily placed little nuggets. You'll find them on the back of street signs and wrapped around poles. I like 'em.

Close to home. Yes, even the quiet suburb of Wadestown has some street art. Happy days.

Bottom of the Access Radio building opposite the Lock Shop. Had just been visiting the Lock Shop where I was simply getting a key cut. Managed to get waylaid by the guy there for half an hour while he talked incessantly. Just when I thought he was winding up he would just keep going onto the next thing. I've heard all about his father's car, his car, his photography equipment, his bird photos, the framing of his bird photos, his wife's wedding rings, his insurance... oh god, it just didn't stop.

Okay, here's the art. Nice one of Nandor. Not sure about the context of the words. Is the other one Bjork?

Yes, here she was. Not somewhere I would expect to find anything, but there I was visiting a client (on a statutory holiday, mind) and spied her - surreptitiously placed on the wall of the British Embassy. Nice one.

ALLEYWAY ART

Went out for a curry and a movie and in between did some skulking around in alleyways. Found these in the alley between Leftbank off Cuba and Ghuznee Street. It was rainy and dimly lit so the images are kinda grainy. My trainers were leaky, letting the alleyway puddle water in to soak my socks. Had to sit through the film with wet smelly feet.

STREET ART SNOBBERY

I've been meaning to take some pics of the "street art" on the hoardings around the Chaffers Park development opposite New World. Why the dicky quote marks? Because part of me feels they should be included in my documentation of Wellington street art, and another part is a complete snob. It's obvious that the artists have been invited to utilise sections of the hoardings. How did they decide who to ask? Were the designs vetted by the council? I'm afraid that for me, street art is attractive when there is subversion involved. Okay, I'll probably get round to including these works at some stage, but it's more fun stepping down alleyways to find the hidden treasure than checking out some huge garishly-coloured council's idea of what street art is.

Check out an interesting discourse on street art from fellow Wellingtonian. The placement of work in the vicinity of art galleries is an intriguing one. Is it happening in other cities - can anyone tell me?

You'll pick his stuff on the streets - I normally know straight away if Jones has done the work, even if he hasn't made his mark alongside. You'll see several examples on this site - here's an article I found on Package's site. And another article on the same site.

I really like street art. Times have changed - where we used to see basic bombing and tags around the streets of my city, the billboards and walls have become canvases of some talented individuals. Here's a few I've snapped with as pxts on my phone. I'll be adding as often as possible, so keep checking in. One prolific street artist whose work keeps showing up around every other corner, is Mephisto Jones. His site's not up yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

In case you can't read the text on this, it says "By the time you read this I would have looked at your ass about three times. It's quite nice" "Thanks yours is nice too". Well, I like the skeleton.

Must be by Mephisto, for sure.

Love this one the most - stuck away in a corner, a tiny little cutout woman down by the kerb.
